Asexual Community

An asexual is someone who does not experience sexual attraction because there is no desire to pursue it. Unlike celibacy, which people choose, asexuality is an intrinsic part of who some people are. Not a decision, just a fact of their being.

Asexuality does not make one’s life any worse or any better, they just see the world through a different lense. They face a different set of challenges than most sexual people. There has to be an amazing amount of clarity in going down this road.

There is considerable diversity among the asexual community; each asexual person experiences things like relationships, attraction, and arousal somewhat differently. You could make the argument that the stimulation in between the ears is greater than the physical stimulation. They are currently one and the same for sexual people but the future looks to be more mental than physical. Asexuality is just beginning to be the subject of scientific research and for good reason. Pattern recognition is key… to many things. This is just one of them.
